A Message from Joyce Strange Berrian

As most of you know, Tom Berrian past away on Friday 14 May 2010 after battling cancer.  Joyce has asked me to send along to the class the following message:

"  Life is continually teaching me lessons. I've learned to be humble, to have faith in dark hours, to see that there is more goodness in people than evil. The many ways that our classmates have reached out toTom and me during his illness, whether it was a note or a gift or your presence at the Glen Rock Inn fundraiser, has touched our hearts more than can be imagined. Tom fought a most noble battle. He loved life and he struggled to stay in it. He will remain forever in my heart.

It is taking me a long time to send my thanks to you individually, and it is my goal to get in touch with each of you in the coming weeks. But I wanted you all to know how grateful we are for your support.

Be well; be happy. Joyce Berrian"

  1. I know that Ed has been in touch with GRHS about our Grad Ball walk thru. Since the parents will be having their party Friday night, the chair of this year's grad ball invited us to walk through on Friday night. This might not be a bad idea since we'll be at the Inn anyway. Anyway, we can still begin our tour of the schools from the HS the following morning. Also, you may notice that there are a few empty stores on Rock Road--as there are throughout the USA. So, I encourage you to spend a little money in your home town while here. The Hidden Treasure box has wonderful jewelry, scarves, handbags for the ladies and for the gentleman who would like to take a little something home for the "MRS." Books,Bytes and Beyond has great gifts for the grandkids or kids, for those of us who got a late start. The Grow-Cery is also another wonderful children's shop. If you'd like to spend a little more, don't forget Taylormade and Alfred's Jewelers. And don't forget Rock Ridge if you want something that actually says "Glen Rock." For lunch, you can do anything from sushi to 5 star.
